Guaranteed Expertise
Beyond her Doctor of Physical Therapy, Dr. Britt Colston has completed a series of comprehensive evidence-based education courses for pelvic and abdominal health through the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Academy of Pelvic Health. These courses are accompanied by both written and clinical testing at each level to ensure retention of knowledge and competency of specialized skills. Britt was then awared the Certificate of Acheivement in Pelvic Health Physical Therapy CAPP-Pelvic) from the APTA, after her written case report was rigorously reviewed and approved by the CAPP Case Reflection Committee. Britt’s passion for working with pregnant and postpartum people lead her to becoming certified as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Excercise Specialist, designed to give a deeper understanding and skill for safe and effective exercise prescription for the pregnant and postpartum population. Finally, in 2021, Britt became one of only 7 people in the state of Kentucky, and Lexington’s ONLY Board-Certified Women’s Health Clinical Specialist, awarded by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists. This procress included an additional case report as a selective process to sit for the exam and then passing of a 200-question specialty examination covering the entire field of women’s, men’s, and children’s pelvic health and rehabilitation.
